Interesting links

From time to time, we come across interesting links and will post them here. Please keep in mind the focus of this site is for Above Knee amputees using prosthetic legs. Much of the time these links explore technology beyond the realm of today's available items on the market for sale to the general population.

Today finally in 2019 Osseintegration has finally arrived available in America.  It is being done in Las Nevada NV with FDA approved equipment by a sports surgeon named  Dr. Ronald Hillock.

It is the single most intelligent thing one can do who is an above knee amputee, or is facing above knee amputation - have the first stage done when the amputation is done.  See https://nevadaorthopedic.com/news-events/ronald-w-hillock-md-is-making-history-nurse-is-first-us-osseointegrated-amputee/

You must keep in mind, that much of this new technology is something that an insurance carrier will not want to pay for - even if it could be obtained. It is an "Interesting Links" page - not a "dreams link" page.
